Holidays in November – Where To Go
Winter is has now well and truly begun, and who enjoys dark nights, biting winds and the prospect of snow? We think it’s time to escape the meteorological and pyrotechnic misery and head for some much-needed sun. A remote, peaceful island with palm trees and golden beaches, perhaps? Just what the doctor ordered!
With a great all-year-round climate and a huge range of things to do, the Seychelles is a luxury paradise. Situated just north of Madagascar and about a thousand miles east of Kenya in the Indian Ocean, this group of islands has natural beauty and wonderful resorts. Whether you’re looking to banish the grey skies with snorkelling, diving, and surfing or just reclining on a sun lounger all day, relaxation is the name of the game here. The population of the islands is pretty small, and most people are based in the capital – Victoria, on Mahé – meaning that wherever you go, you’ll find secluded beaches, romantic restaurants and empty hammocks galore…
If you’re looking for somewhere with a bit more hustle and bustle, Bali is a great option. It’s been a tourist haven for years, and with fab beaches, parties and food it’s easy to see why. The friendliness of the people is legendary and everyone will go out of their way to ensure you have a great time. If you want to see more than just the beach, there are temples and terraced hillsides, and dancers, music and local craftsmen famed for the quality of their work. So there’ll be no problem buying the odd souvenir, or three!
If it’s the ultimate shopping experience you’re after, Kuala Lumpur is the place to be – there are more malls in the city than in any other across the planet. It’s probably the reason why it’s the sixth most visited city in the world! You can head over to Chinatown for a little mayhem and madness with chaotic stalls and street food and craft markets, or for the complete opposite, check out the Suria KLCC luxury mall. It’s Malaysia’s première shopping centre located at the base of the Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin buildings in the world. There you’ll find every top fashion shop you can think of, along with cafés, restaurants, a 12-screen cinema, concert hall, art gallery, science centre and huge aquarium.
