Brisbane, Noosa and Fraser Island

After your wild partying and surfing days at Surfer’s Paradise, head into the Queensland Capital of Brisbane. Relish in your city surroundings and explore the shopping of Queen Street Mall, the city adventure of the Story Bridge Adventure Climb or explore the city in a different way on a river cruise. You can even indulge in a spot of alcohol with the XXXX Brewery Tour or visit the Magill Estate Vineyard.

After this, head North and wind up in Noosa, where you can get back to nature and observe the National Parks by taking a three day canoe trip.

After this you can head to Hervey Bay, where you can visit the nearby Mon Repo and watch baby turtles being born, or catch a ferry to Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. Whilst here you can hire out a 4×4 and drive around and explore, or watch off the coast and look for whales, dolphins and even sharks and sting rays. Remember not to go in the water though – too many sharks.

Going north and the Great Barrier Reef

Drive towards Agnes Water where you take part in some great activities like Scooter Roo Tours and Bushwacker Quad Bike Tours, along with exploring the Deepwater and Eurimbula National Parks. Swing into Rockhampton and experience the vast nature of the Kershaw Gardens and the Botanic Gardens and Zoo. Then explore the natural wonders of the Capricorn Caves, before climbing Mount Archer and taking in the spectacular and unparalleled views.

Travel a few hours down the road, passing the Mount O’Connell National Park, a small but beautiful place, before arriving in Mackay. Here you can take part in Eco Tours and underwater adventures, before exploring the Botanic Gardens and the Bluewater Lagoon. Follow this by heading towards Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands, where you can scuba dive and visit the Great Barrier Reef, where you can observe one of the world’s most beautiful underwater sights.

One of the last places on your journey should be the beautiful area of Townsville. Here you can take in the scenic side and observe beautiful views from Pipers Lookout, or head to the summit of Castle Hill for amazing 360 views of the city. Take in the area’s nature by climbing Mount Stuart or visiting Paluma and Crystal Creek Rainforest, before checking out the wildlife at the Billabong Sanctuary or Reef HQ; one of the world’s largest coral reef aquariums.

The end of your trip

Then it’s on to Mission Beach, the penultimate stop before arriving at your final destination. Here you can enjoy some wild adventures including sky diving and white water rafting or enjoy a relaxing few days and top up your tan on the beach.

Finally end your Oz adventure by arriving in the amazing adventure city of Cairns. With so much to do here, you’ll want to make sure you have a few days to spend engaging with the exciting side of the city. Visit places like the Kuranda National Park, or relax on the secluded beaches such as Palm Cove. The adventure doesn’t stop there, with sky diving and scuba diving available. You can even fly to the Great Barrier Reef for the day, giving you an excellent bird’s eye view, and don’t forget to check out the spectacular Tablelands waterfalls.

So if it’s a once in a lifetime travelling adventure you want, there’s nothing like the East Coast of Oz.
